Hay bob your site has to be one of the best site for a bowler help. I recently had a minor injury that was screwing up my approach and I got it solved fairly easy. Then last year I found out I was throwing the ball using top spin and not hooking it. And my good bowling buddy suggested a new stronger ball. So I bought a RG Cell, I still have a Storm Street rod all drilled for the most aggressive setting. Then I had a little problem with my ball chopping pins so I bought me a spare ball Ice storm. And that helped a lot I recently noticed that my thumb was out of place on my Street rod went to my local house and he plugged and drilled the pattern to the t just like my cell bowling ball was drilled. And I asked him to resurface and polish he did and now I have 2 great balls that hit well if its the right pattern. Cell for heavy oil my Street rod polished for medium to light. But even I find sometimes in the 2nd or 3 game due to the shot it hooks to much and I cant control it. I have low ball speed probally 13-14 mph and low axis and etc. Im a down and in player I can swing my cell a little but I feel more conformable throwing down and in. I have been looking but need help I was wanting either a RG Mars, or No mad peral and I was wondering for a low speed, very dry lanes with a down and in player like I am. Which one should I get and how should I drill it. I was thinking getting the mars and setting it one setting lower then the most hook and backed setting. What do you think. Thank you very much for your time, Scott |

As you know I am a Roto Grip staff member so I have used all the Roto Grip equipment. And I believe I have the answer for you on this one. I too have slow speed but a high track. I have experimented with the same balls you mention. For me the Mars was just a little bit weak it is best for a high rev player. The Nomad pearl has a bigger motor and stronger cover. I drilled mine for a weaker reaction and it has been awesome. The first tournament I used it in I won. For those of us who are rev challenged and slower I think the Nomad drilled weaker is a better choice than the Nomad drilled stronger. BOB |
