Ebonite Mission 2.0

Mission 2 front

Ebonite’s Mission 2.0 offers enhanced motion, stronger backend continuation and more striking power than the original Mission. The 2.0 uses the exact Mission 1.0 core of the original Mission, but uses a more aggressive XL1250 coverstock.Overall, with it’s pearl coverstock, the ball does get through the heads easier than the original Mission, with an increased backend reaction.

Ebonite Vital Sign

Pure Physics Core

The Ebonite Vital Sign breaks the mold on previous Ebonite upper-mid priced products. Ebonite has designed a new core, that is asymmetrical, with a Flexol Super Plus veneer. The result is an extremely versatile ball, for all styles of play.

The Vital Sign has a pretty low RG with a medium high differential, it definitely needs some oil on the heads and has a very short and quick transition.

As always, we test all balls on 2 different patterns, the first being the typical house shot, and the second on the PBA Shark pattern. The shark pattern is a long 43ft and has to be played deep inside.

Hammer Jigsaw Trap

Jigsaw Trap front

Hammer bowling has enhanced its Jigsaw line by adding the new Jigsaw Trap.  The new Trap gets through the heads a lot cleaner, and retains even more energy on the back-ends than the previous Jigsaws for a really strong back end reaction.

Jigsaw Trap Core

The new trap has the same quick-corner coverstock as the other Jigsaw balls, but with a pearl finish and a Powerhouse factory finish. The medium Mass Bias jigsaw core remains virtually unchanged from previous balls.

The Trap has a very low RG with a high differential, but it is still able to go long and get cleanly through the heads giving you that "go long and flip hard" look.

As always, we test all balls on 2 different patterns, the first being the typical house shot, and the second on the Earl Anthony sport pattern. The Earl Anthony pattern is 40ft and has a good amount of volume.

Columbia Pure Physics

Pure Physics Core

Every once in a great while, a bowling ball manufacturer comes out with a ball that really changes the game. Columbia is one of the manufacturers, who over the last several years, has remained relatively quiet. Although their lineup always contained decent reacting equipment, they never really had a "Great" ball in their lineup.

That time has come to an end, and now Columbia has come out with a ball that I believe will be this years "Blockbuster".

Brunswick C-(System) 4.5

C-System 4.5 front

Brunswick has expanded its line of Carmen Salvino's C-(System) bowling balls by introducing the new C-System 4.5.  The 4.5 features the Chemical Friction Technology (CFT) coverstock that all the C-System balls utilize. The difference with the 4.5 is the ball has a C-System 4.5 Core lower friction factor than the 3.5, which gives you more length through the heads than the 3.5, but shorter than the 2.5, so it gives you more of a middle ground when the 2.5 doesn't hook enough, and the 3.5 is too much ball.

The I-Block symmetric core is a modification of the original asymmetrical I-Block core. By combining an asymmetric base with an asymmetric flip block, the two from a symmetric core, but maintains the high differential.
